- Q = 6000 × 0.5 × (230-280) = 150,000 kcal/hr
Considering 85% efficiency and 10% confidence factor:
- Final capacity ≈ 195,000 kcal/hr
That is, a boiler with a capacity of about 200,000 kilocalories per hour meets the needs of this production line.

If the capacity is less than the actual need, the pump and burner will work continuously at maximum power, the heating time will increase and the thermal oil will lose its quality in the long run.
